Restaurant: La Cuccina

A charming a la carte restaurant in Hout Bay that is beautifully decorated, interesting and, most importantly, serves delicious food. I recommend that you give it a try, but only if you have a lot of time on your hands! The service is painstakingly slow! I would also avoid the filter coffee. It might be organic, but it needs to taste good too. However, this restaurant certainly gets a bonus point for not having a television. R8ing: 7/10
P.S. They have a dinner menu from Wednesday to Saturday now too.

    "As the co-owner of the restaurant I thank you for your review,I assume you came at night as the picture is from our A La Carte menu.

    We would love it if you popped in during the day for either our buffet breakfast or buffet lunch.

    Not sure if you would accept a complimentary lunch or breakfast but to truly grasp our concept we would gladly offer you the meal ?


    You absolutely right about the evening service ,it still quite a learning curve for us as it is first time our staff;as we have never served a full A la Carte menu,by the end of this month I feel should be as comparable to our food in service delivery at night.

    "It takes a professional restaurant owner to Google their restaurant name and check out what people have to say about it. I am impressed.

    I came to your restaurant during the day. It was a strange time between breakfast and lunch i.e. too late for the breakfast menu and the lunch stuff was still coming out. That is why we ordered off the A La Carte menu and probably why the service was very slow.

    I would love to take you up on the offer of a complimentary breakfast or lunch but, alas, there are two problems. Firstly, I cannot pitch up in a cat suit (as I am an undercover rater) without slight embarrassment, and secondly, I might be incredibly biased in rating a free meal as I am a sucker for free food! Thank you so much for the offer though. It is with an extremely heavy heart that I will have to decline.

    On the plus side, I will take your advice and rate La Cuccina on breakfast or lunch in the near future. Please watch this space for your new rating."
